外研社Unipus陆续走进全国高校，2015年1月4日，沈阳也迎来了Unipus高校英语教学转型与数字化教学研讨会。研讨会大牌云集，既有沈阳及周边地市各院校负责人，又聚集了“外研社杯”全国英语演讲大赛的优秀选手及指导教师。大家积极讨论，纷纷为建设信息技术时代的数字化教学共同校园贡献智慧。亲临会场，就如同观看了一场现场版针对教学发展研讨的Ustage演讲秀。

Good afternoon, dearest teachers!

Happy New Year!

It is my honor to be invited by Ms Sun Fenglan to share with you my reflections on the 2014 FLTRP English Public Speaking Contest.

This is the first time that I was engaged in the FLTRP Cup speaking contest.This unforgettable experience is destined to be part of my life.

When it comes to my reflections, I have three major points to make. No.1: A good coach makes great difference; No.2: FLTRP is the best platform I have ever known; No. 3: Critical thinking and debating skills are crucial in public speaking.

First, I owe my sincere thanks to my teacher,my coach, my friend, Diana---allow me to call by her English name here. She has been with me in the past 6 months since our campus-wide preliminary contest.She has instructed me and helped me in more ways than I could imagine. I will talk about that later. I would also like to thank my parents---their constant love and companion is what makes me who I am today.

Secondly, I cannot thank FLTRP enough. It's hard to describe all the emotions and feelings for FLTRP. I laughed, wept and hoped. Most importantly, I have harvested friendships, learned my weaknesses,gathered faith and broadened my horizon.

The FLTRP Cup Speaking Contest has played a major part in my life for the past 6 months. It is unbelievable how far I have progressed in those 6 months. Writing different drafts, preparing for the campus-wide contest, getting ready for the provincial level contest, the Internet online contest and the finals in Beijing, I wouldn't have been able to do any of these if it weren't for Diana and my parents' constant love and support. There were times when I doubted and questioned myself, but their trust in me didn't waver for one second.

Now comes my third and the last point---critical thinking and debate skills are crucial in public speaking as well. Giving a speech is much like doing a debate. In a limited time we have to come up with ideas and supporting ideas and facts. Just like Professor Pober said, "A debate is definitely different from giving a speech, but the idea is the same". Coming to the contest helped me realize the importance of extensive knowledge and a clear mind, on which I need to improve .
