Darla K. Deardorff
Professor Darla K. Deardorff is currently executive director of the Association of International Education Administrators at Duke University. Professor Deardorff has worked in the international education field for over twenty years. She is also an experienced cross-cultural trainer and coach and conducts training for non-profits, corporations and educational institutions. One of her recent consultant projects was for UNESCO on comparative perspectives on intercultural competence. And she is also the founder of ICC Global, a global net work of researchers on intercultural competence. Professor Deardorff has published seven books including as editor of The SAGE Handbook of Intercultural Competence as well as lead editor of The SAGE Handbook of International Higher Education, and co-author of Beneath theTip of the Iceberg: Improving English and Understanding US American Cultural Patterns. She is also author of the recently published book on Demystifying Outcomes Assessment for International Educators: APractical Approach and co-editor of Intercultural Competence in Higher Education: International Approaches, Assessment, Application and soon.
