新西兰威灵顿维多利亚大学教授，主要研究方向为词汇教学与研究、语言教学法、课程设置。主要著作包括Teaching and Learning Vocabulary & #40;1990& #41;, New Ways in Teaching Vocabulary & #40;1994& #41;, Learning Vocabulary in Another Language & #40;2001）, Focus on Vocabulary （与Peter Gu合著，2007）, Teaching Vocabulary: Strategies and Techniques & #40;2008& #41;, Teaching ESL/EFL Listening and Speaking & #40;与Jonathan Newton合著，2009& #41;, Teaching ESL/EFL Reading and Writing & #40;2009& #41;, Language Curriculum Design& #40;与ohn Macalister合著，2010& #41;等。编写Reading for Speed and Fluency Books 1-4（与Casey Malarcher合编，2007），4000 Essential English Words Books 1-6（2009）等教材。曾为TESOL协会设计英语教师职业发展系列课程中的“词汇教学”网络课程。
